A border city, not a backwater
Edirne sits right in the corner of Turkish Thrace where Türkiye meets Bulgaria and Greece, and that geography is the whole story. The market is bigger than the city's population would suggest because it's fed by cross-border traffic — traders, transit travellers and weekenders moving through the Kapıkule and Pazarkule gates. Listings concentrate in central Edirne, around the Selimiye Mosque, the Old Town and the Trakya University district, with a secondary cluster in the border-trade towns of Keşan, Uzunköprü and Ipsala. Because of the borders, the clientele and the providers are more mixed than a town this size would normally have. Turkish is the default, but English works, and across the border markets you'll hear some Bulgarian and Greek too. Confirm both the figure and the currency in your first message so nothing shifts at the door, and settle in cash, in person.

Hotel outcall is the standard arrangement, handled the usual discreet way — be a registered guest, keep the lobby clear, arrivals room-direct. The central hotels near the Selimiye and the university are the practical base; the summer months from June to September are the busier stretch.

WhatsApp is the booking channel. Keep the opening message short and concrete — your area, a rough time, and the currency you intend to pay in. Detail stays vague in writing here, which is normal across the Turkish market.
Staying safe
The dominant risk in Türkiye is the deposit scam — a fake profile takes a "kapora" over WhatsApp and disappears. The rule doesn't bend: never send money before you meet, whatever the reason.
