Natalie Nicole Mejia (born May 7, 1988) is an American singer and dancer. Mejia is a member of the musical group Girlicious.

Personal life

Born in West Covina, California and raised in Diamond Bar, California, Mejia first came into prominence on national television as a contestant on The CW reality show Pussycat Dolls Present: Girlicious in 2008. She was primarily home schooled having accrued enough credits to receive her diploma early. She studied dance from the age of nine at the Millennium Dance Complex which is known for instructing Britney Spears.

Music career

Before Girlicious, she was part of two musical groups - Cherri, of which she was a member from 2001 to 2003, and Breathe, which formed in 2005 and disbanded in 2007. Breathe was an opening act for Sean Paul.[1] Natalie recorded songs before Girlicious, with her old group Breathe, that can be heard on Youtube.

Natalie was a contestant on the CW Reality show Pussycat Dolls Present: Girlicious, in which she became one of the four girls to make up the group, Girlicious. She was known for being very competitive and, at times, overly confident. During the show, Natalie lost her grandmother. She took the news really hard because her mother told her over the phone. Robin Antin and the other girls had to help her through. Chrystina Sayers was her best friend on the show, and the two became very close from the beginning. The close nature of their friendship became especially apparent during the infamous "bathtub scene" in which Mejia and Sayers take a bath together, scandalizing the other contestants. Both Natalie and Chrystina were also the final two members to be chosen for the group. She is sometimes seen sporting message T-Shirts during her performances such as "Latinas Do It Better" or her infamous quote "Beauty Is A Talent". The shirt saying "Latinas do it better" was worn in the music video for Like Me.

As a member, she has opened for pop group, Backstreet Boys for their Unbreakable Tour that started in July and ended in September.
