Kimberly Dos Ramos De Sousa is a Venezuelan actress, entertainer, fashion model, dancer and singer. The actress began her career in commercials and promotions on the Venezuelan television station Radio Caracas Television (RCTV). She then acted in telenovelas in starring roles on RCTV International such as "Eugenia Alcoy Del Casal" on La Trepadora, and as "Karen Montero" on Que el Cielo Me Explique. She was later known throughout all of Latin America as "Matilda Román" in the Nickelodeon television series Grachi. Kimberly became well known as a singer when she recorded a soundtrack album for the television series La Vida es Maravillosamente Mágica. She also reached an idol status for her outstanding acting in her Grachi role. Kimberly was a member of Grachi: El show en vivo, a musical tour of Grachi, that traveled to several countries in Latin America.
Early Life
Dos Ramos was born in Venezuela, to Portuguese parents. She has two brothers who are also actors. Dos Ramos was interested in acting from an early age. As a child, Ramos appeared in various Venezuelan television programs, and attended her first screen test at the age of four.
Career
Her first television appearance took place in 2003 on the Radio Caracas Television soap opera , La Cuaima, in a supporting role as "Bambi Rovaina Cáceres." She later appeared as Juliet on the RCTV soap opera Amor a Palos, a program about love and relationships, told from the point of view of four women. In 2007, the actress was scheduled to participate in the unreleased independent teen drama, "Fanatikas" and as Eugenia Alcoy Del Casal in the RCTV soap opera, "La Merienda." She continued to work with RCTV, appearing in "La Trepadora," a 2008 soap opera inspired by Romulo Gallegos’ 1925 book of the same name. In 2009, Dos Ramos continued her work as an animator for the RCTV program "Loco Video Loco." In late 2009, the actress returned to acting to play Karen Montero in what would be the last production of RCTV International, Que el Cielo Me Explique. After completion of the recordings of Que el cielo me explique, Dos Ramos had several units in different auditions for the cast of a new youth television series for Nickelodeon Latin America where she landed on the series "Grachi" as the main villain, Roman Matilda. Production of the first season began in February 2011 with the soap opera first airing on May 2, 2011 by Nickelodeon Latin America in all Spanish-speaking countries of Latin America, receiving high critical acclaim. The premiere of Grachi became the most watched in the history of the original productions for Nickelodeon Latin America and was granted a 50-episode run later in 2011. As part of the cast of Grachi Dos Ramos recorded an album of soundtrack for the telenovela, titled Grachi: La vida es maravillosamente mágica. The successful album debuted at number twenty in the ranking of best-selling albums Mexico where he remained for thirteen weeks and at number four in Argentina. Dos Ramos has participated in several promotional tours with the main cast of the soap opera by several Latin American countries. From February 10, 2012, Dos Ramos with the cast of Grachi began a lecture tour of the musical based on the novel "Grachi: The Live Show." Grachi The second season was a resounding success, and was confirmed for a third season. Dos Ramos moved on from Grachi after season 2, however, and took a role with El Rostro de la Venganza, a new Telemundo telenovela filmed in Miami, Florida which was released in July 2012 in the U.S. on Telemundo.
In November 2012, it was announced that Dos Ramos would star in a new soap opera, entitled La magia del amor, along with her brother Lance Dos Ramos, and the actors Catherine Fulop, Fernando Carrillo and Andres Mercado, who participle in Grachi, which ran for 103 episodes. In January 2013, it was announced that Dos Ramos would be part of the main cast of the upcoming telenovela Telemundo, entitled Marido En Alquiler. More guest starring roles on telenovelas would occur for Dos Ramos over the next 5 years. Dos Ramos has participated as the main protagonist of the Telenovela for Televisa Por amar sin ley for the last 2 seasons as Sofía Alcasar. In July 2019, W Studios and Lemon Films began development on a new remake of the 2004 hit Mexican drama Rubí with Carlos Bardasano as producer which Dos Ramos has also been a part of since filming began.
She has won 2 Miami Life Awards for her work and one a Premious Tu Mundo. She has been nominated for various awards 12 times for her various acting achievements.
