Kelly Stables (born Kelly Michelle Stables on January 26, 1978) is an American film and television actress who is best known for her role as “Melissa” in the #1 rated CBS television comedy series Two And a Half Men.

About Kelly

Born and raised in St. Louis, MO, Kelly's earliest memory is knocking on her neighbors doors, giving them hand-made puppets (made from a brown paper lunch bag) and inviting them to a show on her driveway that night... which consisted of Kelly playing the ANNIE record and singing in her nightgown. She spent her teenage summers working at Scoop-dee-doo Ice Cream shop and attended Lafayette High School where she was voted “Most School Spirit” and Prom Queen. Kelly was active in cheerleading, Jazz-ma-tazz show choir and theatre. Her first professional acting job came when she was cast in the teen chorus of GODSPELL at The Muny Opera. She soon went on to graduate cum laude from the University of Missouri, Columbia earning a bachelor’s degree in Communication with an emphasis in Television and Theatre Performance minor.[1]

During the ides of March of 2000, Kelly decided to pack up her car and move to Los Angeles. She knew no one, but found a small studio apartment and used the purple blow-up furniture (that her big sister bought her) to sleep on. She soon became associated with Theatre West but would call St. Louis in tears practically every day, because if she tried to go anywhere other than the theatre she would end up completely lost somewhere in LA.

Finally, came a “monstrous” break. She was fortunate enough to meet the Academy award winning, legendary make-up artist Rick Baker who helped her land the role of “Evil Samara” in The Ring 2, after doing stunts in THE RING. For each day of shooting The Ring 2, it took Mr. Baker and his team 5 ½ hours to apply the prosthetic make-up on Kelly.

Career

Stables has acted in a number of plays. Her two largest theatrical roles were in the Thousand Oaks Civic Light Opera's production of Peter Pan as Wendy, and in Sleeping Beauty as the title character.[1] She has also played several other stage roles, most notably that of Marion Davies in W.R. and the Daisy.[1]

Stables is best known in the world of film for the stunt work she did for The Ring (2002), and for taking over for Daveigh Chase in portraying the (off-tape) evil Samara Morgan for The Ring Two. She was also in the short film Rings (2005). Her roles in the Bring it On and Ring franchises would boost her popularity to the point of gaining mention in Rolling Stone, Star and Us Weekly.[citation needed] From 2004 to 2006, she voiced Will Vandom on W.I.T.C.H., and had roles on General Hospital and St. Bartes-Aspen.[citation needed] She also briefly appeared in the unaired pilot for The Grubbs in 2002, and had a role in an episode of Cavemen in November 2007, playing a 12-year-old cavekid boy.

Stables had a recurring role as Melissa, Alan Harper's receptionist (and recurring/former girlfriend) in Seasons 6–8 of Two And a Half Men. She also worked on a film called My Life Untitled,[2] guest-starred on 'Til Death as a travel agent, and appeared in a Burger King commercial as a woman who is selling things on infomercials.[citation needed]

Family/Personal

By March 2005, corresponding with the release of The Ring Two in theaters, she married Kurt Patino. They have two sons together, born in 2012 and 2015.[3][4] Her first pregnancy was written into the second season of her TV show, The Exes.[5]
