Jessica lived a normal childhood as the daughter of a Baptist minister. In 1984, Jessica's younger sister, Ashlee was born. Jessica was well known for her great singing voice. Jessica began singing at her father's Baptist church. In 1991, Jessica enrolled at Richardson North Junior High School.
In 1992, at the age of 12, Jessica auditioned for Mickey Mouse Club and made it to the finals. In 1995, Jessica graduated from junior high and enrolled at J.J. Pearce High School, where she was a cheerleader and very active in theater arts. In 1998, as a junior, Jessica dropped out of high school to persue a singing career.
Her bust size is DD. Her father has been quoted as saying "She’s got double D’s! You can’t cover those suckers up!"
In 1998, Jessica signed a record deal with Columbia Records. Jessica released her first single, "I Wanna Love You Forever," which peaked at #3 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 2000. Soon afterward her album Sweet Kisses was released. toured with boy band 98 Degrees to promote her new album. She was given a role in the music video for 98 Degrees' hit song "My Everything," playing Nick Lachey's love interest. Simpson's album Sweet Kisses had gone double platinum, helped by follow-up singles "Where You Are" and "I Think I'm In Love With You", which were both released in 2000. The latter became Simpson's biggest radio hit at that point and was her first release of an uptempo single.
In 2001, Simpson recorded a follow-up album with what Columbia considered more radio-friendly, up-tempo tracks. The result in that was Irresistible, released in mid-2001 on the heels of the title-track first single. "Irresistible" became one of the biggest hits of her career; it peaked at #15 on the Hot 100. Irresistible debuted at #6 in June 2001 on the Billboard 200 Album Chart, and has sold 825,000 copies to date.
During the summer of 2003, the reality show, Newlyweds: Nick and Jessica, starring Simpson and her then-new husband Nick Lachey began airing on MTV. Simpson's third album, In This Skin, was released in August of 2003 to coincide with the series premiere of Newlyweds. The show quickly became a pop culture phenomenon and is credited with making her a household name, even among those who did not follow pop music or MTV.
Move to Film
In mid-2005, Jessica made her big screen debut as Daisy Duke in the movie remake of The Dukes of Hazzard. The film was #1 at the box office its opening weekend. The film eventually collected $110.5 million world-wide. Before the release of the film, Newlyweds: Nick and Jessica got cancelled. In late 2006, Simpson starred in Employee of the Month with comedian and actor Dane Cook.
In 2007, Jessica starred in Blonde Ambition, but the movie failed at the box office. Jessica still continued to release albums and decided to release a country music album.
On October 26, 2002, Jessica married singer Nick Lachey, after dating nearly a year. Jessica confirmed that she had remained a virgin until her wedding night. In November 2005, Jessica and Nick announced that they were separating. The divorce was finalized on June 30, 2006. The marriage lasted over 3 years.
After the divorce, tabloids reported the Jessica was romantically linked to Dane Cook and Adam Levine. In August 2006, Jessica began dating guitarist John Mayer. However, they split in May 2007.
In November 2007, Jessica began dating Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo. Romo was previously reported to have been dating country music star Carrie Underwood. Jessica and Tony celebrated Thanksgiving together at Jessica's grandparents' home in Waco, Texas. The relationship came under scrutiny when she was blamed for Romo's poor football performances as exemplified by a December game in which the Cowboys lost to the Philadelphia Eagles. ome of the Cowboys' fans gave her the nickname "Yoko Romo" in comparison to Yoko Ono, who many Beatles fans blame for "ruining" John Lennon. Even then-President George W. Bush jokingly endorsed the "Jessica jinx" after the Giants went on to win the Super Bowl XLII in 2008. During the traditional White House reception for the winning team, President Bush quipped, "We're going to send Jessica Simpson to the Democratic National Convention". Before the NFC Divisional Playoff Game between the Dallas Cowboys and New York Giants, Tony and Jessica traveled to Mexico for a weekend vacation. Tony came under huge scrutiny when the heavily favored Cowboys lost to the Giants. After the football season, tabloids reported that Tony wanted to end the relationship, however the couple rekindled and continued to date. However, on July 13, 2009, People magazine reported that Romo and Simpson had ended their relationship.
In May 2010, Simpson began dating former NFL player Eric Johnson. On November 14, 2010, Simpson announced her engagement to Johnson. On October 31, 2011 after much media speculation, Simpson confirmed that she and Johnson were expecting their first child.
As expected, Jessica had gained weight during her pregnancy. However, she is actively working out and is also the new spokeswoman for Weight Watchers. On June 22, 2012, Jessica posted a new picture on her Twitter account that shows her breasts have increased in size since her pregnancy.
