American=citizen of the US?

Well in my ears it sounds like an 'American' is a person living in one of the american continents. But it seems like the meaning implicated in this category would by 'a person living in the USA'. Does anyone more then my think that 'USA citizen' or anything like this would by more apropriate? Is this a stupid thought? (Sorry for the wacky spelling...) --Flaxapa 04:48, 17 March 2007 (PDT)

I think it is quite common to call people who live in the USA "American", while the people who live in other states of the both American continents are called Mexicans, Canadians, Brasilians etc. I think it should be left as it is here. --BobbyLaurel 18:47, 26 November 2007 (EST)

Slovak vs. Slovakian

There are two categories here: Slovak and Slovakian. In fact, both words have the same meaning: a person who is a member of the nation of Slovaks or who lives in Slovak Republic. However, there are about 250 000 ethnic Slovaks living in the Czech Republic because former Czechoslovakia split [here] into two different independent countries on 1st January 1993. I think the two categories, Slovak and Slovakian, should be merged into one. --BobbyLaurel 18:47, 26 November 2007 (EST)

i agree. slovak seems to be the more popular term, according to google trends. i'll move those in the slovakian category over tomorrow. --Hexvoodoo 01:25, 27 November 2007 (EST)
