Jessica White (born June 21, 1984[1] in Buffalo, New York) is an African-American model. television personality and occasional actress[2]. She is best known for being a Victoria's Secret runway model,[3] Maybelline spokesperson[4][5] and working for CoverGirl, as well as her appearances in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issues.[6] Outside of modeling, she has appeared on several television series, such as The Young and the Restless, America's Next Top Model, Famously Single, Zoe Ever After and Hip Hop Squares.

Biography

At the age of 16, Jessica was scouted by Susan Makai in her hometown of Buffalo, New York, and had gone to Personal Best modeling school at age sixteen. In Paris, she signed a contract with the IMG agency and over the next six months landed campaigns for CoverGirl, Chloé, and Gap.

She was soon walking the runways for New York’s top designers, including Ralph Lauren, Oscar de la Renta, Marc Jacobs and Tommy Hilfiger. Tyra Banks dubbed her "the model of her generation."[7] In June 2007, White signed a contract with cosmetics company Maybelline.

She has done editorials for Harper's Bazaar, Teen Vogue, King and covers shots for Surface and Trace magazines. In 2003, White was chosen for a coveted shoot in Sports Illustrated's famed Swimsuit Issue. She was also featured in the 2004, 2005, 2007, 2008 and 2009 issues. In addition to working with world-class photographers she was the object/subject of several Joanne Gair body painting works in these editions.[8][9]

White is currently part of Elite plus in New York City.[10]

Jessica has been romantically linked to numerous celebrities, which included NFL Hall of Fame wide receiver Terrell Owens, and was seen in Owens's VH1 reality show, The T.O. Show.[citation needed]

Acting

In 2006, White had a small role in Big Momma's House 2 and has appeared in music videos for singer John Legend, rapper Jay-Z and Robin Thicke. In 2008 she appeared in The Young and the Restless.

Philanthropy

White has created a women's philanthropic organization, Angel Wings Foundation.[11][12]
