Phillip Stearns was educated at Brooks School, Andover, Massachusetts and at Princeton University, for whom he rowed in 1940.

Phillip was a charismatic photographer who, before he lived in London, had also done some work for Playboy. He used his background in fashion photography to good effect when choosing erotic props with which to partly clothe his models. The effect was to produce images to appeal to a wide range of fetishistic tastes. In particular, he liked to embellish natural breasts by choosing clothing that would expose, enlarge and support them.

He was also active behind the scenes in the film industry. Credits include :-

  • Cool it Carol! (1970)
  • The Love Box (1972)

Among the books on which he collaborated or wrote are:-

  • Six Nymphets (King's Road Publishing 1966)
  • How To Make Model Soldiers (Hamlyn 1974)

Among the erotic nudes whom he photographed were:-

Other models who posed for him included :-

  • Betty di Bugnano
  • Eva Gabor
  • Faye Emerson
  • Joan Fontaine

He also produced a feature entitled 'Evening With Eve' (Penthouse January 1967). It featured stylish nudes wearing scanty fetish decoration at the Eve nightclub in London W1.
