New Wave Hookers is an adult film originally released on VHS in 1985 by VCA Pictures; it was the first video in a series of several sequels, and it also inspired a remake. The film stars Kristara Barrington, Ginger Lynn (in the edited re-release), Desiree Lane, Gina Carrera, Kimberly Carson, and, in the original release, Traci Lords. Its male co-stars were Jack Baker, Rick Cassidy (only in the original release), Steve Drake, Jamie Gillis, Peter North, Steve Powers, and Greg Rome.

Controversy
The original version was removed from distribution in the United States in 1986 when news broke that Traci Lords was under 18 when the film was made. The movie was subsequently re-edited and reissued with the Lords-Cassidy scene excised and the box cover photo of Lords was replaced with co-star Ginger Lynn's image. This altered version is the one that is legally available in the United States today.[1]
