Sameena Ali-Khan (born 30 December 1967) is a British journalist, newsreader, television presenter, and occasional Glamour model
Ali-Khan is currently employed by ITV Central as a main presenter for ITV News Central.
Ali-khan has won three RTS Midlands Best Screen Personality Awards in 2010, 2014 and 2015, for her work on ITV News Central.
In 2018, at the age of 50, Ali-Khan as a sideline to her television work, entered the Glamour Modelling arena. As a result, she has unexpectedly become a cult British Asian sex symbol.
Broadcasting career
(1997-2000) BBC Radio Lancashire
After the completion of her Masters degree, Ali-Khan began her broadcasting career with the BBC working on both Asian and mainstream programmes at BBC Radio Lancashire.[1]
(2000-2005) Drive on the BBC Asian Network and Radio 5 Live
Ali-Khan relocated to Birmingham in 2000 and began hosting Drive on the BBC Asian Network and Radio 5 Live. stations.[2]
Sameena confesses that it was more by default than design that she ended up on a news programme like the Asian Network’s Drive, “I’m a failed medic!” she said. “I did a science degree, but didn’t really like it, just mixing chemicals in a lab. As a break, I ended up going to a radio station on Wednesdays, which was my half-day off, and I just got a feel for radio then. I was answering phones but within about six months they allowed me to go on air and it all started from there.”[3]
It was while she was working on both the Asian and mainstream programmes at BBC Radio Lancashire that she heard that the Asian Network would be taking over the Asian programming there. I ended up applying for the job at the Asian Network in Birmingham as a Senior Broadcast Journalist. With no experience at all she got the job. Khan said "It was a turning-point in my life".
For the first few months she was just in a management role, then she job-shared that, as well as doing Drive, finally she went into presentation full time, which has always been her first love.”[4]'
(2005-Present day) ITV Central including (2006) ITV News
After working for the BBC for 5 years, Ali-Khan made the move from radio to television and joined ITV Central in 2005.
During this period Ali-Khan also presented the ITV News on occasion during 2006.
Ali-Khan returned from maternity leave on 2 February 2009, now co-presenting the West Midlands edition of the programme, before it was merged with the East Midlands edition a fortnight later, and was renamed ITV Central.
After the merger, Ali-Khan became one of the main co-presenters of the pan-regional evening edition of the ITV News Central programme, mainly alongside her fellow presenter Bob Warman. [5]

Ali-Khan was a natural D Cup in her 30s, but upon maternity her breasts blossomed to a massive 34EE. Her bust has remained large ever since. Approaching 50 and the onset of menopause, Al-Khan’s body shape became increasingly curvaceous, with her breasts now settled at size 34F and a noticeable increase in the size of her derriere and hips. Ali-Khan is now an established and popular broadcaster, with her warmth, humour and professionalism always engaging the audience. At the same time she has become renowned for her voluptuous figure. In her mid 40s, she ditched her traditional suits, which covered up her assets and started to embrace her fuller figure. She has now taken to wearing outfits that accentuate her natural curves, when presenting the evening news programme on ITV Central.
Ali-Khan has enhanced her sexy reputation by generally wearing very tight tops and dresses whilst presenting the news, highlighting her buxom attributes and hourglass figure to maximum effect. She is also much in demand for hosting awards and public speaking events. Utilising her broadcasting skills, mixed with her glamorous presentation qualities, she brings professionalism and fun to any event.
Ali-Khan’s change in style, has seen her buck the trend of female presenters being discarded once they hit late 40s in favour of younger woman. Now into her 50s, remains more popular than ever.
Modeling
First Cover Shoot (2013)
With no previous experience at modeling, and at the age of 45, Ali-Khan had her first real photo-shoot with Midlands based Pukaar Magazine. Ali-Khan was featured as the January 2013 cover star, with an accompanying interview and photo-shoot. Ali-Khan said at the time, “Although I’ve been in front of a television camera presenting for years, actually posing for the still camera was quite alien to me, but I really enjoyed the experience”
Shortly after this experience, Ali-Khan started adopting a sexier look. “I think talking to the photographer at my first real studio photo shoot, I realised it was about time I visually expressed myself differently. So out went the suits I’d been wearing over the last 10 years, and in came a sexier look. I’d reached the highest level as a regional presenter but it can be a struggle to stay ahead as a woman and an ethnic minority. I don’t think people would disagree with me, if I said media is generally biased. If you’re a woman you have to fight hard, you’ve got to have determination and face those challenges. Changing my look was part of that challenge”.
Ali-Khan started wearing more glamorous and tighter fitting clothes, embracing and displaying her voluptuous curvaceous figure. “I was receiving great feedback, viewers were loving the new sexy look, so I knew it was the right choice”.
Glamour Model (2018-Present day)
Though it wasn’t until late 2017, and approaching 50, that she took up an offer to model for a private photo shoot. “I love challenges, trying something out my comfort zone, and unexpected is something I’ve always been about. I wanted to show a 50 year old woman, should not need to slink back into the shadows, and with some photo ideas of a racier nature, decided, hey let’s do this”.
“I’ve always been busty and slim, but hitting the menopausal stage of your life everything changes. Not only my boobs got bigger but also my bum and thighs. An offer for a lingerie shoot came my way, so decided I do have the figure to make a success of that, and at my age it’s now or never, so took the plunge”.
“It really wasn’t what anyone expected me to do, and wasn’t ever something I thought I’d try, but the shoots give me such an adrenalin buzz”.
Ali-Khan’s posed for her first lingerie shoot at the age of 50, in 2018, giving her the distinction of being the oldest age that a celebrity has commenced glamour modelling. In her first shoot, she teamed a black lace bra with black knickers, stockings and suspenders. The black bra had a white lace see-thru top half, which exposed a hint of her big nipples. The lingerie set really complimented Ali-Khan’s voluptuous curves to the full. One website commenting “Wow, Sameena Ali-Khan has really delivered “the sexy” in these photos, forget Little Mix, this lady proves there’s nothing finer than a mature MILF…..ravishing”
In January 2019, Ali-Khan, admitted that the initial idea for the glamour shoots were prompted by a desire to see if she could actually do it, especially at 50. “I’d been contacted with requests for private shoots, so went along not knowing what to expect. Turned out to be a lot of fun, and I felt some of the resulting photos were good enough to release to the public. People are very judgemental, particularly as I’m from an ethnic background, so I was a bit scared at the response. Luckily so far it’s all been very complimentary, so I’m glad I released them”.
“The photographers I’ve worked with are all fans, and it’s agreed no photos are released without my consent, and so far that’s worked really well. I feel I’ve created a little underground cult of Sameena fans”.
“I’ve posed in all manner of outfits. Fully clothed sets, wearing traditional Sari’s, and a couple of leather skirt outfits. Also bikini and more lingerie sets. The big question though was had she posed topless or even nude yet or would consider it? Ali-Khan jokingly admitted, “Never say Never”.
Ali-Khan"s move into the world of Glamour has unexpectedly found her classed as a cult British Asian sex symbol, and as of 2018 is considered one of the sexiest British women over the age of 50.
Personal Life
Ali-Khan is married with two children and lives in Solihull, West Midlands, England,
Al-Khan's interests outside of work are her family, cooking, fashion design and keeping fit, particularly swimming and loves anything scientific.
