Gillian Anderson is a famed American actress, who is best known for her role as Special Agent Scully in the long running science fiction TV show The X-Files. She has also appeared topless in two mainstream movies - one before X-Files made her famous and the other some years after the show was over.
Career
Gillian Anderson appeared in dozens of movies and TV shows. She became famous by playing Special Agent Scully in the long running Sci-Fi TV show The X-Files. Although her character was a reserved woman of science who was used as a counterpoint to her zany partner Special Agent Mulder, the powers-that-be did not fail to emphasize her attractive frame on occasions (she was nude to the bone towards the ending of the first X-Files movie, but nothing explicit was shown).
Her feature film debut took place one year earlier (in 1992) in the drama The Turning. While her character appeared in just a single scene, she was shown topless (for less than seconds). It was also her only topless scene for 15 years (until 2007). A previously unreleased movie, its producers realized they have gold in their hands once The X-Files became a success, and quickly released it with her minor character on the cover.
In 2007, Gillian Anderson played a MILF with a younger boyfriend in the sexual thriller Straightheads. Although she had numerous scenes involving sex (some involved her being raped though), she was once again shown topless for less than seconds and most of it was from a long distance. However, in the single scene in which she was shown up close, it was just enough for her uniquely long nipples to steal the show.
Personal life
Gillian Anderson was previously married twice (to an art director and to a documentary filmmaker). She has a daughter from her first ex-husband and a son from her current boyfriend (a wealthy English director of a wheelclamping firm).
She is a strong supporter for finding a cure for neurofibromatosis, as her younger brother suffers from the disorder. In addition, she helps assisting South Africa (her second ex-husband was a white African activist). She also supports animal rights and is a member of PETA.
