History
Danyel got into the business in 1992 after being an exotic dancer in Indiana. Her incredible looks and willingness to engage in hot sex plus her DD cup enhanced breasts got her to the top of the porn business fast. In 1997, Danyel left the business after she divorced her husband Sam Johnson, who performed under the name Jim Sparks. Sam directed films for Ray Pistol's Arrow Productions until forming his own company Primal in late '97. Danyel remarried in 1997 and moved to Nevada where she is raising her family. Along with Nina Hartley, Danyel Cheeks had a well-publicized fling with actor Tony Curtis.

Danyel entered porn in the fall of 1992 through Bill Margold and quickly became "the stuff of award winning crotch operas. She has a body that compels an instant hard-on, the face of a pouty fallen angel, and the kind of sexual exhibitionism that will make adult fans never forget her. "I was dancing at Brad's Gold Club in Indianapolis. I became good friends with the owner, and he took me in June 1992 to the Ponderosa Sun Club in Roselawn, Indiana for the Ms. Nude Galaxy contest. I got first runner-up in the contest and met directors and people from Video Exclusives and John Stagliano. A week later, I was in Las Vegas with John doing my first film. We shot "Bend Over Babes 3" and it came off like a dream. I had always wanted to do films. I though it would be great to take your own sexuality and put it on a screen.
Danyel retired from porn in 1995 to raise a family.
"Danyel could've been a superstar, but she burned out," says Bill Margold.
In AVN's 3/93 issue, Danyel said: "I'm a laid-back country girl, born and raised in Southern Indiana on a pig farm; now I'm a sexual beast and exhibitionist who enjoys L.A.. I'm 5'5, 110 pounds, 38-DD boobs with a tiny waist and rounded hips like the cartoon characters you see people draw. I have blonde hair to my butt; it is all mine but not my real color.
"I flew back home and thought that would be the only tape I'd ever do. A couple of days later, I got a phone call from Video Exclusives and they said that they were sending me tickets; 'come on out, we would like to meet you.' I deep-throated Rocco Siffredi and it was fun because we did it in a love swing. He put me in it and I turned around and put him in it.
"I learned to deepthroat many years ago, but I started like everybody else, choking and hitting teeth. But within a year or two, I learned how to breathe in and out at one time to make everything easier. I was determined to do it after seeing Linda Lovelace in action.
"I did "Butt Freak" for John Stagliano and did a couple of DPs with four men. As soon as the top guy was done, we moved him out of the way and put somebody else in.
