Christina Rene Hendricks (born May 3, 1975 in Knoxville, Tennessee) is an American actress.
Early years
Christina Hendricks was born in Knoxville, Tennessee, but she was raised in Twin Falls, Idaho for most of her childhood.[citation needed] She got her start acting in Junior Musical Playhouse productions, including Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.
Career
Beginning in 2007 Christina Hendricks has starred as Joan Holloway in the critically acclaimed AMC TV show, Mad Men. She has guest starred on other notable shows including ER, Without a Trace, and Firefly. Hendricks was named "the sexiest woman alive" in a 2010 poll of male readers of Esquire magazine.
Personal life
Although she is known to be seen with red hair, Hendricks is a natural blonde and has been dying her hair red since she was ten years old. Hendricks is engaged to fellow actor Geoffrey Arend; they announced they will be getting married on October 11, 2009.
