Aida Turturro (born September 25, 1962) is an American actress known for playing Janice Soprano, sister of New Jersey mob boss, Tony Soprano, on the HBO TV series The Sopranos, a role which netted her Emmy Award nominations in 2001 and 2007. She has also appeared in a number of films including True Love, What About Bob?, Junior, Money Train, Sleepers, Fallen, Illuminata (film)|Illuminata, Deep Blue Sea, Mickey Blue Eyes, Bringing Out the Dead, Play It to the Bone and Romance & Cigarettes.
Turturro was born in Brooklyn, New York, daughter of Dorothy, a homemaker, and Domenick Turturro, an artist.[1] Actors John Turturro, Nicholas Turturro, and Natalie Turturro are her cousins.
Turturro has worked to raise public awareness of Rheumatoid arthritis.[2]
