Sandra Nilsson is a Swedish fashion and Glamour model. She is best known for her work with Hawaiian Tropic and as a Playboy Playmate of the Month for January 2008.
Nilsson was born in Yrstad, Sweden but grew up in the little town of Sjöbo. She was approached to be a fashion model at the age of 14, but her parents declined to release her to work. At the age of 16, she entered the fashion modeling industry and began a long streak of modeling for many notable Swedish brands working with the Lua Agency. Nilsson also appeared on Sweden's Next Top Model show, which gave her large exposure to her home country[1].
Nilsson's career took off when she became a winner and contestant in many European Union beauty contests. Her international career began when she won Miss Sweden in a Hawaiian Tropic bikini pageant. For the next 2 years, she appeared on several ads, calendars, magazines, billboards, and commercials as well as appearing on the Travel Channel. In 2006, Nilsson was voted Sweden's 7th Sexiest Woman.
In January 2008 after being spotted by Hugh Hefner's brother Keith at a film festival[2], Nilsson landed the coveted title of Playmate of the Month for Playboy magazine. She was the first native Swede to capture that title since Victoria Silvstedt in December 1996. Nilsson then made a follow up appearance on the Howard Stern Show.
Nilsson currently resides in New York City where she is continually pursuing modeling opportunities and an acting career. She also does a great bit of charity work.
