Raised in a showbiz family in Los Angeles, she debuted in Sandman (1998), directed by her father, but gained fame with The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants (2005).
Lively's breakthrough came as Serena van der Woodsen in Gossip Girl (2007–2012). Her notable film roles include The Age of Adaline, A Simple Favor, and The Shallows.
