Uschi Digard is a retired Swedish porn star and nude model best known for her prodigious natural breasts and her roles in Russ Meyer movies. Uschi Digard is probably the most filmed and photographed model of the golden era of porn - roughly 1975 to 1983. She hit the modelling scene in the late 60's with explicit nude photos in numerous porn magazine layouts and low budget sex action films of the period.

Early life

Although born in North Dakota, she grew up in Scandinavia. Prior to her acting career, Uschi worked briefly as a translator in the jewelry trade where she developed a knowledge of German, Italian, Spanish, three Scandinavian languages, French and English. Her heavy Swedish accent is heard in a brief speaking part in Cherry, Harry & Raquel!. One of her most extensive speaking roles was in 1970's softcore sex comedy Getting Into Heaven.

Contrary to some publications, Digard was born in Sweden and not in North Dakota, USA.

When asked of her childhood, she has said: "I was born in Saltsjö-Duvnäs, a little town outside Stockholm, Sweden, and am of Swedish/Swiss heritage. I was sent to a boarding school with nuns at an early age because those were the best schools in the country and I was pretty promiscuous as a little one -- not with men, but with books. I loved reading and at age 6 I decided I wanted to learn languages because I couldn't stand reading books that had been translated -- they lost the essence. Uschi Digard started developing at a young age, about which she commented: "When I started to develop at 11 I had to strap myself in, because it wasn't seemly to have breasts, and we all wore uniforms. By age 15 I was a 40DD.|Uschi Digard|[2]}}

Career

Digard burst into cinema in Sweden where she starred in several erotic films, although these would not be considered pornographic by modern standards. In 1966, she returned to the U.S. where she soon began appearing in numerous sexploitation movies and pornographic magazines.

She was among the best known big bust models in the late-1960s and early-1970s. Her film roles toward the end of this period occurred at an interesting time in the porn industry as films transitioned from softcore to formulaic, minimal plot hardcore. Uschi Digard started her adult acting career as one of the favorite of porn auteur and breast fetishist Russ Meyer. Uschi Digard starred in a host of his late 60's and 70's sex and violence melodramas, including Supervixens and Beneath the Valley of the Ultra Vixens, where her lesbian sex action scene with big breasted Kitten Natividad provided a highlight for big tit fans everywhere.

Uschi Digard's most obvious asset was what got Meyer to notice her in the first place - her incredibly large natural breasts. Uschi Digard had the slightly European, full-figured look that Meyer always sought out, and displayed a way with double-entendre dialogue that led tor a lengthy career as a big boobed nude porn model and actress in many magazines and films.

Digard was cast in Russ Meyer's Cherry, Harry & Raquel! to provide the denouement in a final interpretive dance scene symbolizing the death of the protagonist. This plot devise was necessitated after the film footage was lost. She soon became a favorite of Meyer whose obsession with "well cantilevered" women is legendary. Digard would go on to appear in three more of the films Meyer made in the 1970s.

Porn Queen

Later she co-starred in several pornographic movies with porn stars such as John Holmes, Candy Samples, and Kitten Natividad during what is sometimes known as the golden era of porn from 1975 to 1983, which was marked by creative scripts (by porn standards) and high production values, when movies were intended for cinematic release rather than video and performers were unthreatened by AIDS.

In 1997, a nearly 50 year old Uschi appeared in some black and white nude photographs. Her body showed few signs of aging.

As of 2006, Uschi Digard is married and lives in Palm Springs.
