Doda (born Dorota Rabczewska on February 15, 1984 in Ciechanów, Poland) is a Polish singer, adult model and television personality.
Career
In 1998, at the age of 14, Doda began her career as an actress at the Buffo theater. Two years later, Doda won the spot of the lead singer of the Polish rock and pop band Virgin. As the lead singer, Doda's great singing talent made her a big star and popular among Polish tabloids.
In 2002, Doda and Virgin recorded their first album, sales and ratings were average. The next two albums topped music and sales charts in Poland, and were released in other European countries. Doda won several awards, including the popular Srebrny Słowik Music Award at the 2005 Sopot Music Festival. In 2007, Virgin disband and Doda began a solo career.
In July 2007, Doda released her first solo album, Diamond Bitch, which was a huge success among music sales in Poland. The album stayed #1 among charts for several weeks. In addition to her singing career, Doda has posed nude for several Polish publications such as the Polish editon of Playboy and CKM, with some glamour posings for women's magazines. In late 2007, Doda starred as a judge for a celebrity ice-skating show Gwiazdy Tańczą na Lodzie and took part in a reality show Jazda z Dodą, which follows Doda during her driver's education course.
Personal life
On March 5, 2005, Doda married Polish goalkeeper Radosław Majdan. Their marriage and relationship was heavily publicized for several months among the tabloids. Doda and Majdan divorced in 2008. Doda is well known for her high IQ, which is 156. In 2004, Doda joined Mensa International. Doda is well known for treating other people with disrespect even on live TV.
