Dorothy Stratten was a Canadian model and actress, whose success was cut short when her separated husband killed her (and then himself).
Career
Dorothy Stratten rose to fame after being Playboy Playmate of the Month for August 1979 and Playmate of the Year for 1980. She then launched a short but rather successful movie career before her separated husband killed her (and then himself).
Personal life
Dorothy Stratten was one the two youngest Playmates to die, when her jealous separated husband, the promoter Paul Snider, shot her to death and then shot himself to death.
The incident was covered in movies, songs and a book. Jamie Lee Curtis played her in a 1981 TV film and a augmented Mariel Hemingway played her a 1983 feature film.
