Yfke Sturm is a Dutch fashion model.
Early life
Born in Almere, Netherlands, Yfke Sturm is the daughter of an environmental inspector and a journalist. Yfke grew up playing sports with her two brothers and planning a future in sports medicine. That all changed one day in 1998 when Sturm was approached by a scout for Elite Models at a store in Almere. The 5’11" girl agreed to enter the 1998 Elite Model Look Contest.
Career
Sturm won both the 1998 Dutch and the international Elite Model Look Contest. Shortly afterwards, she signed an exclusive contract with Ralph Lauren and Calvin Klein. Sturm remained in school and traveled to New York, Paris and Amsterdam to model.
Sturm has posed for and appeared on the cover of many international fashion magazines such as Vogue, Harper's Bazaar, Elle, Marie Claire, Allure, Cosmopolitan, L'Officiel. Her advertising campaigns include Ralph Lauren, Calvin Klein, Emporio Armani, Giorgio Armani, Gianfranco Ferré, Versace, DKNY, Escada, H&M, and Carolina Herrera. Most recently she shot for Pantene, Garnier, Biotherm, XoXo, The J Lo Campaign, and Victoria's Secret. and has been on the cover of Elle Magazine over 14 times in her career.
Sturm has worked with many highly respected photographers, graced the runway for major designers, and hosted the Dutch version of America's Next Top Model, Holland's Next Top Model for two seasons (2006, 2007). Holland's Next Top Model was RTL's best scoring show and was nominated "best entertainment show of 2006". Daphne Deckers replaced her as host fo the third season.
Sturm is represented by Munich Models, Option Model Agency, ANC-Hamburg, Germany, Next Model Management of New York and Paris, Next Model Management of Milan, Italy, SS&M, Spain and Elite Model Management in Amsterdam.
Private life
Away from fashion modelling she enjoys gymnastics, skiing, and swimming. After a relationship of almost 10 years Sturm married Imad Izemran on July 7, 2007. On July 13, 2010 the Dutch television programme RTL Boulevard announced the divorce of Sturm and Izemran.
