Early life and career
Sylvia was born in 1953 in Detroit, Michigan but grew up in the Trinidad Islands. Sylvia boasted an all-natural figure, with 110-60-90 cm / 44-24-36 inch measurements, and became popular in various big-breast publications such as Gent, Fling and Mayfair. Her career spanned mostly the mid to late 1970's.
The "color barrier"
Sylvia McFarland broke the "color barrier" in figure modeling in becoming not just a popular African American model, but a popular model period. She had good looks, a winning smile and a spectacular body that boasted a pair of DDD cup breasts that were rumored to have weighed 20 pounds, which were made all the more impressive when contrasted with her slender frame.
She also posed under a host of other names, including Janette Jordan and Corrina Mujica. She has been called one of the greatest African American adult models of the 1970's.
