Alura was born in Florence, Italy, the daughter of American parents who were serivng in the United States Armed Forces at the time of her birth. A year after she was born, in 1978, the family returned to the United States, settling in a small suburb in Southern New Jersey, bordering, Phildelphia, Pennsylvania.
After graduating from high school, and following in her parents' footsteps, Alura decided to enlist in the Armed Forces, spending more than a decade working as a physical rehabilitation specialist for the Navy and Army. During this time, she married her first husband and gave birth to their two children. Her pregnancies caused her to gain weight, which led her to follow a strict exercise regime to regain her shape, starting her passion for bodybuilding.
In 2010 she filed for divorce from her husband and a leave of absence from the Armed Forces to move to Las Vegas, where she began working as a stripper at the Palomino Club. At this stage she also started as an erotic and bondage model.
In 2012, at the age of 35, Alura entered the porn industry.
