Karen Summer (born July 22, 1962) is an American porn star from the 1980's who has recently made a return to the adult entertainment industry after a two decade hiatus as a peformer who appears now in mainly big-bust, mature (MILF) and interracial features. In 2015, she was inducted into both the AVN and [2] XRCO Halls of Fame[3]
Early life
Summer was raised in Tarzana, CA and the Encino section of Los Angeles, where she was born.[4]She worked in Hollywood as an extra, photo double, stand-in, and production assistant in the mainstream entertainment industry prior to working in porn.[5][4] She worked on the CBS-TV series The Dukes of Hazzard for three years[5][4] when she was between the ages of 18 and 20.[6] Karen, who was introduced into the porn film industry by famed porn reruiter and talent agent Jim South,[4][7] began her porn career her first time around, at the age of 20, which lasted from 1982 until 1993, where appeared in, and occasionally starred in, 114 loops and movies between 1981, and 1991, when she did her final three movies for Erotic Video Network. [4] Karen returned to the industry after 21 years, this after she ran into old friend and fellow 80's porn legend Nina Hartley, who encouraged her to resume her adult film career.[4] She currently hosts her own show on XXX Porn Star Radio.[5][4]
Personal life
Summer lived in Florida for twenty years during her hiatus from porn.[8] She was married for ten years and got divorced in 2000.[5][4] She was a paralegal and also worked in the health care field.[5][8][4]For the most part, she spent the last five years of her career working as a feature dancer and burlesque performer.[7] She moved back to Los Angeles in February 2014.[4]
