Mary Lucy Denise "Marilu" Henner (born April 6, 1952) is an American actress, author and producer. She is best known for her roles as Elaine O'Connor Nardo in the TV series Taxi and as Ava Evans Newton in the series Evening Shade.
Reality TV
Henner was a contestant on the very first season of the NBC reality series The Celebrity Apprentice, where she represented the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine charity. Henner placed eight overall in the competition, losing both of the tasks that she was Project Manager in, but still received $20,000 from Donald Trump. Henner would later return as a member of Trace Adkins' team in the season finale, but Adkins lost to Piers Morgan on finale night.
Henner would later return for The Celebrity Apprentice All-Stars, this time representing the Alzheimer's Association charity. Henner's performance this time around was improved, managing to reach the final five and winning a task as Project Manager before being fired. Henner managed to raise $50,000 and once again served as a member of Adkins' team when he reached the final two once again. This time, however, Adkins manage to win the season, beating out Penn Jillette.
Personal Life
Aside from acting, Henner has also shown skills as an author, penning an autobiography titled "By All Means, Keep on Moving". Other books written by Henner are "Total Memory Makeover: Uncover Your Past, Take Charge of Your Future", "Healthy Holidays", "The 30-Day Total Health Makeover" and "I Refuse To Raise A Brat".
Henner has been married three times: To actor Frederic Forrest (1980-1982), director Robert Lieberman (1990-2001) and a former college alumni Michael Brown (2006 -). Henner has two children from her marriage to Lieberman and is stepmother to the three children Brown has from a previous relationship.
