Template:Biobox new/doc

This is a documentation subpage for Template:Biobox new (see that page for the template itself).
It contains usage information, categories and other content that is not part of the original template page.

The Biobox new template is used to present basic information about a person who is a performer in pictorials or films and has a cup size of at least C. It can be used instead of the older {{Biobox}} template. It is fully downward compatible and preserves all data given in the old biobox.

For fictional characters, use the {{Fictional}} template.

Existing pages: The new biobox can easily be applied to existing pages by changing the {{Biobox to {{Biobox new at the beginning of a page. Existing data in now deprecated parameters is preserved, but will be overridden as soon as the new parameters are specified. Remember that you have to add these new parameters manually as they did not exist in the old biobox.

New pages: For new articles, the infobox may be added by pasting the template as shown below. All fields are optional, though ideally you should be able to fill in something. :) If any fields do not apply, or the information is unknown, you can leave them blank to be filled in later.

Parameters

• New parameters not containted in the old {{Biobox}} template are red. Remember that you have to add these new parameters manually if you change the {{Biobox to {{Biobox new in an existing page.
• Old and now deprecated parameters are struck through.
• Parameters that can be referenced have "yes" in the ref column.

Personal
Parameter	ref	Explanation
name	-	Name of person. This should generally be left blank, as it defaults to the name of the article. There are two exceptions: If a name contains disambiguation, use the person's actual name here. Example: name = Betty Blue gives  Betty Blue  in the biobox, but the page name is Betty Blue (Playmate). If a name contains foreign characters, this is the place to use them, as the page name itself should be written without those characters to avoid strange URLs. Example: name = Slađana Petrušić gives  Slađana Petrušić  in the biobox, but the page name is Sladjana Petrusic.
photo	-	An image of the person. Images should be 240 pixels wide. Example 1: photo = [[Image:ImageName.jpg|240px|Model Name]] Example 2: photo = [[Image:ImageName.jpg|Model Name]] for images with a width less than 240 pixels
alias	yes	Other names used professionally by the person. Do not add the article name itself here, or a real name, unless they have used it professionally.
real name	yes	Deprecated. Real names should not be added to articles at all except in cases where they are widely known and the subject does not object. See Boobpedia:Policy.
birth month birth day birth year birth ref	- - - yes	Month (August, aug, 8), day (14 without "th") and year (1980) of birth. If birth month, birth day and birth year are provided, the current age is displayed:  Born:  August 14, 1980 (1980-08-14)  If you want to cite a source for the birth date, add the reference in the birth ref field, not in any of the other three fields.
birth date	yes	Deprecated. Former field for month and day of birth. If birth month and birth day are blank, birth date is checked and displayed for downward compatibility reasons. If birth month and birth day are specified, they override any data in birth date.
birth name	yes	Deprecated. Real names should not be added to articles at all except in cases where they are widely known and the subject does not object. See Boobpedia:Policy.
birth location	yes	Place where the person is born: town, city, state, country.
death month death day death year death ref	- - - yes	Month (November, nov, 11), day (9 without "th") and year (2003) of death. If death month, death day, death year and birth month, birth day, birth year are provided, the age at death is displayed:  Died:  January 25, 2006 (aged 63)  If you want to cite a source for the death date, add the reference in the death ref field, not in any of the other three fields.
death date	yes	Deprecated. Former field for month and day of death. If death month and death day are blank, death date is checked and displayed for downward compatibility reasons. If death month and death day are specified, they override any data in death date.
death location	yes	Place where the person has died: town, city, state, country.
years active	yes	Years that the person was active in her/his career. This can be free text ("1960s", "1997-present", etc.).
ethnicity	-	Very general ethnicity grouping is used to give some indication of physical appearance, not census-style ethnicity. Please use one of the following: Caucasian, Black, Asian, Latina, Native American, Middle eastern, Jewish, Indian, and Pacific Islander. Indian refers to East Indians, not Native Americans. Pacific Islander refers to darker-skinned asians such as Filipinos and Hawaiians.
ethnicity2	-	Additional ethnicity, if applicable.
nationality	-	Citizenship.
nationality2	-	Additional nationality, if applicable.
Body
Parameter	ref	Explanation
measurements	yes	Bust-waist-hip measurements. Example: 38-26-34 in. Note: Some models replace their real bust measurement by their bra size, for example "34D-26-34". Do not delete the "D" in these measurements, because the model's real bust measurement would be 38, not 34.
bra/cup size	yes	Bra size or cup size. Cup size must be C or higher. Consider using the {{Bra}} template: {{bra|34|E}} gives  Bra/cup size:  34E (75E)  (full bra size) {{bra|E}} gives  Bra/cup size:  E  (only cup). A reference can only be added if the Bra template is used.
cup size	-	Deprecated. Former field for cup size. If bra/cup size is blank, cup size is checked and displayed for downward compatibility reasons. If bra/cup size is specified, it overrides any data in cup size.
natural tits natural tits ref	- yes	Are her breasts real? (yes/no) If you want to cite a source for the natural tits field, add the reference in the natural tits ref field, not in natural tits.
implant type	-	The type of her breast implants: saline, silicone, or string.
pierced nipples	-	Are her nipples pierced? yes, both, two, 2 give  Breasts:  Both nipples pierced . one, 1 give  Breasts:  One nipple pierced . left, l give  Breasts:  Left nipple pierced . right, r give  Breasts:  Right nipple pierced . free text gives  Breasts:  Nipple piercings: free text .
height	yes	Height of the person. Consider using the {{Height}} template: {{height|ft=5|in=6}} gives  Height:  5 ft 6 in (1.68 m) . {{height|m=1.68}} gives  Height:  1.68 m (5 ft 6 in) .
weight	yes	Weight of the person. Consider using the {{Weight}} template: {{weight|lb=150}} gives  Weight:  150 lb (68 kg) . {{weight|kg=68}} gives  Weight:  68 kg (150 lb) .
body type	-	Slim (Liv Lindeland), Average (Uschi Digard), Athletic (Corina Curves), Muscular (Melissa Dettwiller), Chubby (Fairy), or BBW (Sofia Rose). Eyeing is usually enough to decide on a body type, but if a body type is debatable, and weight and height are known, the body mass index (BMI) calculator can be used. BMI less than 20 is slim; BMI between 20 and 25 is average; BMI between 25 and 30 is chubby; and BMI more than 30 is BBW. Athletic body type is for those who are toned or slightly muscular, and muscular body type is only used for bodybuilders.
eye color	yes	Eye color of the person.
hair color	-	The most common hair color of the subject. Blonde, Brunette, Black, Redhead, etc.
hair color2	-	Second hair color, if applicable.
hair length	yes	Hair length of the person. Short, medium, shoulder length, long, etc.
hair shape	yes	Hair shape of the person. Straight, curly, wavy, etc.
underarm hair	yes	Variants of no give  Underarm hair:  Shaved . Variants of yes give  Underarm hair:  Yes . free text gives  Underarm hair:  Free text .
pubic hair	yes	Shaved, trimmed, full, etc. Shaved labia with a stripe or triangle left above are considered as shaved. Variants of no give  Pubic hair:  Shaved . Variants of yes give  Pubic hair:  Full . free text gives  Pubic hair:  Free text .
blood	yes	Blood group.
Performances

All parameters in the following section allow yes or no, but no is not shown so you can leave the field blank. All other entries (like "in one movie") are ignored and not displayed. If there is something special about an entry that needs explanation you should consider explaining it in the text of the article.

What's new?

The old biobox became very long and cluttered as many new fields were added. The main goals for the new biobox were: Be clearer. Be shorter. Provide more information.

The following changes have been done:

Major

• Data is now grouped in sections: Personal, Body, Performances, Personal pages and Databases. This should make it easier to find information in a longer biobox.
• Data that was previously spread over several lines and fields is now contracted to single lines or single fields with only one name, like
   Breasts:  Enhanced (silicone implants)  or  Born:  March 14, 1983 (1983-03-14) .
• "Yes" entries in the Performances section are replaced by more descriptive words and contracted/grouped, like
   Shown:  Topless, Bush, Full Frontal, Pink . "No" entries are no longer displayed.
• The dilemma with measurements, cup size and bra size is solved. The new bra/cup size field can contain the {{Bra size}} template as well as a reference. Cup size is replaced and now deprecated. Measurements stays clean, as {{Bra size}} has moved in its own field.
• The natural tits field can now be referenced by adding the reference in natural tits ref.

Minor

• Current age is displayed if full birth date is provided (unless person has died).
  Age at death displayed if full birth date and full death date are provided.
• Birth and death dates can now be referenced.
• Death location added, analog to birth location.
• Nationality2 added, analog to ethnicity2.
• Second ethnicity or nationality is now displayed even if the first was omitted by accident.
• Implant type is now ignored if Natural tits is "yes".
• Solo is now clearly displayed as  Solo:  Masturbation . Although the meaning of the field was explained in the old {{Biobox}}, many editors used solo just as a synonym for single photoshoots. Now that "masturbation" is displayed, they can revise their entries, making the data more consistent.
• Hardcore is now clearly displayed as  Boy/girl:  Vaginal  for the same reasons. Before it was not clear if it included lesbian acts for example.
