Amanda Brunker (born 1973 in Dublin, Ireland) is a former Miss Ireland winner and current columnist for the Irish Sunday World newspaper. After attending Mount Temple Comprehensive School she turned to modelling, eventually entering and winning the Miss Ireland competition in 1991 when she was 17 years old.[1] She went on to represent her home nation in the Miss World Competition in Nigeria that same year without success.[2]

Career

She has continued modelling, acted in the film Head Rush[3], had a cameo role on the Irish soap Glenroe, has been a nightclub hostess, presented her own late night TV show The Dinner Party[4] and is currently a journalist/columnist for the Sunday World.[5]

She lives in Dublin with her partner, Philip O'Loughlin, and their two sons. She is currently preparing to release her first novel, entitled Champagne Kisses[6], which is due for publication on June 25, 2008. She appeared on the Irish chat show The Late Late Show in late May to promote the forthcoming novel. During the interview she confirmed a story that had appeared the previous February in the Irish Independent, and on it's linked website, which stated that she and her partner had become engaged to be married during a holiday in New York.[7]
