Patricia Ann Sheehan, also known as Patricia Sheehan Crosby (September 7, 1931 in San Francisco, California – January 14, 2006 in Beverly Hills, California) was an American actress and nude model. She was one of the two misses who were selected as Playboy magazine's Playmate of the Month for October 1958. The other one is Mara Corday.

Early career

In 1949, she won the local Miss Milkmaid pageant, which launched her career. Sheehan had her first chance at fame when she won first place in the Miss San Francisco Pageant of 1950: her prize was a Gensler Lee diamond ring. She took honors for Miss San Francisco and flew to Santa Cruz, California to be on Jim Davis's KCBS Radio Show and take part in the Miss California Pageant. Shortly after the divorce, she participated in the Miss California Pageant of 1951. Two years later, in 1953, her father died of diabetes. Sheehan dated and married George Von Duuglas-Ittu on January 9, 1951 in Carson City, Nevada. George (AKA George Douglas) was a studio agent and assistant director. They divorced on January 6, 1954. Together, they had one child, Franz Nicholas Gregory Von Duuglas-Ittu (AKA Gregory Crosby), born on October 21, 1951.

Fame

Sheehan made it into her first magazine, Comedy, on July 1953. She later got into acting, performing in her first movie: The Adventures of Hajji Baba. She posed for magazines such as TV Fan and People Today. In 1955, she finally got to speak on camera in her first dialogue role in Son of Sinbad. Sheehan was Playboy magazine's Playmate of the Month for October 1958, with Mara Corday. Her centerfold was photographed by Sam Wu.

She was in the movies Kismet, The French Line, Daddy Long Legs, Blondie, as well as The NBC Comedy Hour. Agnes Moorehead was her acting coach during this period.

Sheehan also became one of the six Goldwyn Girls in 1955. Gigi was her last movie, in 1958.

Shortly after Bing Crosby's first wife, Dixie Lee, died of ovarian cancer, he started dating Sheehan. Their relationship became very serious. He would fly to San Francisco to do his radio show, then would stop by Sheehan's place to pick her up for their date. Eventually, Crosby proposed to Sheehan.

On May 4, 1958, she married Crosby's son, Dennis Crosby in Las Vegas, Nevada. They had three children: Gregory Crosby; Dennis Crosby, Jr.; and Patrick Anthony Crosby. They divorced in 1964 and Sheehan never remarried, although she dated a number of famous men, including Australian actor Rod Taylor and Frank Sinatra.

For a time, Sheehan dated Elvis Presley; once she flew with him to Memphis, Tennessee to see his mother. She had even gone to dinner with Howard Hughes. She also modeled with actor Marlon Brando.

Later life

In her later years, Sheehan lived in Van Nuys, California with her son Gregory, a Hollywood producer and screenwriter, and his wife Spice Williams-Crosby, an actress and stuntwoman.

Sheehan died of a heart attack on January 14, 2006 in Beverly Hills, California.
