Erica died in a traffic accident on New Year's Eve, 2009, in Panama City Beach, FL, aged 53.[9] At the time she was married to former NFL running back Derrick Jensen, whom she married in 1995, and the couple had a son, Davis, who was 12 years old at the time of her death. She reportedly died instantly when she was struck by an off-duty Florida Highway Patrol officer driving a 2001 4-door Hyundai.[10]
