Before modeling, Jansen graduated from a comprehensive high school in Germany and was studying to become a pharmacist. At the age of 14 she was involved in a motorcycle accident and sustained major leg injuries. She was treated for 6 months in the hospital, after recovery one of her legs was left with noticeable scars. Initially, she refused to be photographed with the scars visible, but after becoming more comfortable with them, they can now be seen in many of her photos.
