After the September 11 attacks, she went on a brief hiatus from porn production, remarking that she felt it disrespectful to be "shooting porn" at a time of national crisis. Around this time she started renting a studio, doing much of the refurbishment herself.
Along with Miko Lee, Kiko Wu is one of a small handful of Asian American adult actresses to attain prominence in the adult film industry. Much of her films feature anal sex and lesbian activity. She has never released any photos or films that co-star a male actor.
Kiko claims to maintain her own website, and is handy with mechanical skills, having designed and built herself a set of bondage bars, an adjustable "robo"-bed, and a number of sex machines. She stopped updating her personal website in 2003, although three models (Nikki Park, Vicki Kim, and Julie Baek) from her Chinatown Girls site continued updating their sites using Kiko's studio until September 2004. Appearance
Kiko had breast implants during her career as a dancer, going from A cup to a B cup. Around this time she also had her pubic hair permanently removed. About a year before she retired from active porn, she upgraded her implants from a B cup to DD cup. Normally having long, black hair, she dyed it with streaks of near neon-red at approximately the same time. Kiko would also occasionally wear blue contact lenses during her photo shoots.
