Mariel Hemingway is an award winning American actress, and also the granddaughter of famed author Ernest Hemingway, and younger sister of the late actress Margaux Hemingway.
Career
Mariel Hemingway has been an actress since her youth. She has appeared in more than 50 films and TV shows, and appeared as herself in more than 20 others
She made the cover of the April 1982 issue of Playboy and tends to appear in sexual - sometimes topless and often lesbian - roles in mainstream films and TV shows. As for the latter tendency, she claimed it made her form a "big connection with the gay and lesbian community" and that she likes taking part in "cutting-edge" productions in general. She parodied herself and this tendency during a 1995 appearance in Saturday Night Live.
It has always been rumored that she got implants to play the topless part of Dorothy Stratten in Star 80 (1983). However, during a 2007 appearance in Fashionably Late with Stacy London, she confirmed she had implants but said she had them done even before that film. She also said she kept those implants until 1993, when they had ruptured, and then replaced them with smaller saline ones (34B-25-36).
She later described removal of her implants stating that the silicone had poisoned her body and she had hyperbaric oxygen treatments to help rid herself of it. [1]
Personal life
Mariel Hemingway has been married to producer and director Stephen Crisman since 1984. They have two daughters.
She is portrayed by Chandra West in the TV film Love and Betrayal: The Mia Farrow Story (1995).
