Christina Hendricks was born in Knoxville, Tennessee, but she was raised in Twin Falls, Idaho for most of her childhood.[citation needed] She got her start acting in Junior Musical Playhouse productions, including Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.
Career
Beginning in 2007, Christina Hendricks has starred as Joan Holloway in the critically acclaimed AMC TV show, Mad Men. She has guest starred on other notable shows including ER, Without a Trace, and Firefly. Hendricks was named "the sexiest woman alive" in a 2010 poll by Esquire magazine. In October 2010, Hendricks starred in her first mainstream film, playing a supporting role in Life as We Know It.
