Boobpedia:New manufacturer

This page is a how-to guide detailing a practice or process on Boobpedia.

If you want to add a clothing manufacturer or brand to Boobpedia, you should consider not only to create an article, but to fully integrate the manufacturer into the Boobpedia system. This can be done by creating a template which contains all the relevant data on your manufacturer.

The advantage of creating a template: Manufacturers appear at different occasions on Boobpedia:

• They can be mentioned in the flow of an article text, for instance Freya.
• They can appear as a header of a category.
• They can have their own article with a complex infobox at the right top of the page.

If you find that some given information on your manufacturer was incorrect or if you find new data, you would have to search the whole Boobpedia site for pages where your manufacturer is mentioned - a procedure that means a lot of work and is highly error-prone. If templates are used, it is sufficient to change the data in the template, and all Boobpedia pages will display the changes.

The procedure is simple: You just have to

1. create the template,
2. create your article,
3. create a category.

Template

This special template is the "data container" for your manufacturer. Editors can insert the name of your manufacturer in an article by using the {{Manufacturer}} template which gets the data directly from the template you are creating now. Your template will also be used as a source for headers and the infobox of your article. If you need to change the data of the manufacturer later (e. g. if you want to change the logo), change this template.

Article

This is the main page for your manufacturer. It contains the infobox and everything you want to write about the manufacturer.

• This creates a predefined manufacturer article. On the new page, replace all three appearances of [Enter manufacturer name here] by the manufacturer name. Follow the other instructions and comments.
• Note: The infobox on your article page is only a different style of your manufacturer's template. If you want to change infobox data, always do it in the template.
• You do not have to complete your article now; you can do it later. Return to this page when you are done.

Category

A manufacturer or brand can have a clothing category. Even if you did not mark any piece of clothing on Boobpedia with a category for your manufacturer, another one can have done so, and your new category already contains entries.

• Use the input box below to create a new category for your manufacturer.
• Note: Do not delete the "Category:" prefix and the "clothing" in the input box!
• This creates a predefined XY clothing category. Follow the instructions given on the new page.
• You can work on your article now or edit the infobox data in your new template.
