Raffaëla Anderson (born 1976 in Montfermeil) was a French porn star in the 1990s and is now a writer and occasional actress in mainstream productions.

Anderson entered the French pornography industry at the age of eighteen[1][3] and soon participated in extreme hardcore scenes including fetish, watersports and fisting both women and men. After four years, she left pornography, but in 2000, she played once more in Baise-moi ("Fuck me"), a film directed by Virginie Despentes and Coralie Trinh Thi. The film was intended for mainstream theaters, but caused a public outcry because of its explicit pornographic scenes and violence.[4]

In 2001, Anderson published her book Hard in which she described human suffering and abuse in the pornography industry, criticisms she also voiced in the later documentaries La Petite Morte ("The little dead [girl]", a word play with the French term for orgasm, la petite mort - "the little death") and Une vie classé X ("An X-rated life").

In her second publication, Tendre violence ("Tender violence", 2006), Anderson described her childhood with her Muslim family in Gagny, in the suburb of Paris, and how she had to suffer a form of sexual abuse ("bad touching") by her alcoholic uncle from the age of five until her teenage years.[1][3]
