Rose Arianna McGowan (born September 5, 1973, in Florence, Tuscany, Italy) is an American television and film actress.
She came to prominence in Gregg Araki's 1995 black comedy The Doom Generation, where she revealed her breasts onscreen for the first time. She has since gone on to other notable film appearances, in films such as Scream, Jawbreaker, The Black Dahlia, and most recently the Grindhouse films Planet Terror and Deathproof, where she met and later became engaged to director Robert Rodriguez. She was formerly engaged to rocker Marilyn Manson in the 1990s. Her best know TV role was as Shannen Doherty's replacement on the WB series Charmed. In celebrity circles, McGowan is known for wearing provocative outfits, once appearing alongside Marilyn Manson wearing a transparent chain-link dress at the MTV Movie Awards, and has even been arrested for indecent exposure. She has been featured on songs by electronic musician BT, and Manson, and has expressed a desire to record her own album.
