'''Hosokawa''' was born in Tanabe, Aomori prefecture, and lived in Etajima, Hiroshima Prefecture until the age of 4. She then moved to Hawaii, United States for a year to attend school there.

She started posing for magazines in December 1990 as a [[Gravure model|bikini model]]. Soon afterwards she started singing and acting in films. She is less famous for her acting and singing, however, than for her curvaceous body. Although she is not as large now, at one time she boasted a 94 cm [[breast fetishism]], quite large at the time for models in Japan.

She is 163 cm (5'4") tall. Her official website charts her changing figure over time. In 1990 she was 94-60-90cm (37-24-35 inches). In 2006 she was 90-59-87cm (35-23-34 inches).
