Louise attended “Our Lady’s” Catholic High School in Middleton, where she was a talented athlete becoming Manchester Hurdles Champion on three occasions. She still enjoys athletics and credits that as helping her keep her body in shape. According to an interview in ''OK!'' magazine, she plans to enter the 2010 London Marathon.

Her measurements are 36DD-24-34. She competed in the Miss Manchester 2006 contest and won the title. Controversy followed as she was stripped of her title a matter of weeks later as she had previously worked as a glamour model, notably appearing in Loaded in the March 2005 edition and on Page Three last in the 3rd June 2005 issue, appearing topless in both. Audiences first caught a glimpse of Madsen in a bit part she landed as Lisa in the teen sex comedy Class.
