Prior to wrestling, Coates aspired to become a professional tennis player after watching [[Martina Navratilova]]. In order to train effectively for tennis, Coates began weightlifting at 15, and during that same year, she entered her first tennis competition in 1984, where she lasted until the finals. At NWA Anarchy's Fright Night event, Coates teamed up with former fellow DSW wrestler [[Tony Salantri|Tony Santarelli]] to defeat Todd Sexton and referee Wes Grissom, the latter of whom Coates was feuding with.

On December 15, Coates began an angle with Don Williams after Coates attacked Williams and his tag team partner Brodie Chase. Despite the fact that Ilsa was killed at the end of the film, she was resurrected for a sequel, ''Ilsa, Harem Keeper of the Oil Sheiks'' (1976) - This was set in the Middle East in an unspecified post-war time period. Ilsa has western women kidnapped to an unnamed Arab country, in which she trains them to be sex slaves for local sheiks. An American spy is sent to seduce her in order to overthrow the main sheik.

This was followed by ''Ilsa, the Tigress of Siberia'' with Ilsa as the sadistic and over-sexed leader of a Russian gulag in 1953. Just prior to Stalin's fall, Ilsa is in charge of a gulag for male opposers of the Russian order. The guards always fight for the right to spend the night with her (two at a time). When Stalin dies, she has to evacuate the place. Years later, she runs a whore house chain in Canada, in one of which she meets a man who survived her gulag even after refusing her charms. She has him kidnapped and rubs her naked form against his but he once again resists her. Both of them then try to avenge each other.

The last film,''Greta - Haus ohne Männer'' (1977) (aka ''Ilsa, The Wicked Warden'') - an unofficial sequel takes place in a corrupt Latin American "banana republic". Here, Ilsa is the bisexual warden of a women's prison in which she ran a corrupted medical center for sex offender females. Directed by [[Jess Franco]], this film falls into the [[women in prison]] genre with no connection to Ilsa's Nazi past. To avoid copyright issues, she was called Greta and was portrayed as a lesbian, thus turning her sex drive to her female patients. Eventually, the prisoners rebel.

Following the match, she did a run-in accompanying fellow Canadians Dayhna, Kat Powers and Jaime D during a USA vs. Canada segment in the ring as a supporter of Canada. Despite being partners, Coates and Reiff wrestled in a three-way match for Reiff's Women's Title that also involved Rachael Moore at Turkey Shoot on November 21, which Moore won.<ref name=Bang/> On December 31 at Hell's Bells, Coates competed in a gauntlet match for the Women's Championship, but was unable to win as Reiff reclaimed the title.<ref name=Bang/>

Coates works primarily for WWE Hall of Famer [[Dory Funk Jr.]]'s promotion !BANG! in Ocala FL during 2009. She is currently one half of the !BANG! Ladies Tag Team Champions with Claudia Reiff. She has defeated former IUWA Diva's champion EKW on 2 occasions for the Indiana based independent promotion IUWA, and is currently the Diva's champion there. March 21, 2010 she was on the winning end of the first ever bikini contest at IUWA, and got the pin on EKW in the first ever women's tag match at the promotion. She has worked for Big Time Wrestling in San Jose, for Pro Wrestling Revolution in northern California, and for several promotions in Georgia such as Atlantic Wrestling Association where she has a running feud with Veronica Fairchild, Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina, Michigan, New Jersey, New York and Canada as well.
