In early 1994, when McKenzie was 15, she sent sample glamour photographs to local modelling agencies. Soon invited for professional photoshoots, she began her career by doing clothed glamour and swimsuit work, intending to progress to topless modelling when she turned 16 later that year.<ref name=Stenson/><ref>At the time, under the Protection of Children Act 1978, 16-year-olds could legally model topless in the United Kingdom; the legal minimum age was raised to 18 by the Sexual Offences Act 2003.</ref>

These early photos, along with several videos made at the time, were not distributed to North America; in Canada or the United States as the legal minimum age for modelling pornographic nude imagery in those countries is 18. (Despite the prohibition, many of these issues still managed to find their way into North American stores, circulated by unaware distributors). The photographs and videos that were taken of Linsey when she was 15, 16 and 18 are available at Linsey's UK website but not her US one.

On 29 July 1995, shortly before her 17th birthday, McKenzie did a topless streak at a televised England v. West Indies cricket match at Old Trafford.
