Sabrina's third studio album, ''Over the Pop'', was released the same year, and for the first time she was allowed to co-write and produce some of the songs. Sabrina's desire for independence and distancing from her sexy image led to conflict with her management. As a result, the album promotion was interrupted and only one more single, "Shadows of the Night" was released off it.

A brand new single, "Cover Model", was released in France and Italy with only limited success. The album and its two singles, "Fatta e Rifatta" and the title-track "Maschio Dove Sei", were surprisingly acclaimed by the critics, but turned out a commercial failure due to a lack of promotion and distribution. Supposedly disillusioned by the "flop" of this album, Sabrina focused her attention onto other projects. The same year then saw her theater debut with the comedy ''I cavalieri della Tavola Rotonda'', playing the role of Morgan le Fay, and after a two year stint she then hosted the game show ''Il mercante in fiera'' on TMC.

In 1998, after the success of her stage debut, Sabrina was cast in a new comedy called ''Uomini sull'orlo di una crisi di nervi'' which was also very successful, but during the production she suffered a broken knee and was unable to continue. She had recovered by the summer and could host the TV show ''Cocco di mamma'' on Rai Uno. In this show she had the chance to sing some Italian and international "summer hits" of the past, and these performances led to her commencing a music comeback. The same year she was in the cast of Italian music band 883's debut movie, ''Jolly Blu'', and of the sit-com ''Tutti gli uomini sono uguali'' airing on Italia 1.

In 1999, Sabrina released a new album, ''A Flower's Broken'', in Italy and Spain but, although an early curiosity was evoked by the music video accompanying the new single "I Love You", both the album and the single were unsuccessful. She was a guest on the British TV show ''Eurotrash'' where she performed her new single "I Love You". Unfortunately, the album's music label RTI Music was being sold (at the same time of the album's release), and all marketing and promotion was stopped.

The year 2001 saw Sabrina's comeback to theatre with the musical ''Emozioni'' that received very good reviews from critics; with this show she toured Italy for almost three years and the cast included Vladimir Luxuria. In 2002, Sabrina hosted another TV show on Italia 1 called ''Matricole & Meteore'', in which she travelled the world in order to uncover the current situations of former stars such as Shannen Doherty, Al Corley, Gary Coleman, Jimmy Sommerville, Charlene Tilton and others.

In 2005, Sabrina starred in the independent film ''Colori'' that premiered at the Salerno's Independent Cinema Festival, where she won The Critics' Choice Awards as best actress. Sabrina also took part in ITV's ''Hit Me Baby One More Time'' where she sang the songs "Boys" and the Sugababes' "Hole in the Head". In November that year, Sabrina performed the songs "Boys" and "All of Me" in the Russian concert Дискотека 80-х. The following year, Sabrina released (but only through her own web site) a new song called "I Feel Love (Good Sensation)".

In 2007, Sabrina toured throughout the French Zénith venues with all her old hits, and also her own cover version of the disco song "Born to Be Alive", premiered at her MySpace page. In 2008, Sabrina toured again throughout France with the nostalgia tour RFM Party 80 organized by the French radio network RFM. In August the same year, performed in Poland in a concert of stars of the 80s, together with Kim Wilde, Samantha Fox, Sandra, Thomas Anders (ex-Modern Talking), Limahl, and Shakin' Stevens. This concert was a part of the Sopot Festival 2008 presented live on Polish channel TVN. In October 2008 Sabrina published her first official greatest hits album in continental Europe, called ''Erase/Rewind''. It included new versions of her hits, as well as several new recorded tracks and cover versions.

==Family and early life==

Her mother is actress Daria Nicolodi and her father is Dario Argento, an Italian film director, producer and screenwriter, well known for his work in the Italian giallo genre and for his influence on modern horror and slasher movies. Her great-grandfather was composer Alfredo Casella.

When Asia Argento was born in Rome, the city registry office refused to acknowledge Asia as an appropriate name, and instead officially inscribed her as Aria Argento. She nonetheless uses the name Asia Argento professionally. Argento has said that as a child she was lonely and depressed due, in part, to her parents' work. Her father used to read her his scripts as bedtime stories. At age eight, Argento published a book of poems. At the age of fourteen, she ran away from home. She was an introvert and read to make up for having no friends.

In an interview with Filmmaker Magazine she stated that she was agoraphobic while she was writing Scarlet Diva and that she could not leave her apartment for months. She said: "I was afraid to go out of my apartment for a long time, I could only go out to work."

Argento has mentioned in interviews that she does not have a close relationship with her father. She has mentioned that he was absent when she was a child. She has also mentioned that she did not have a happy childhood. Asia Argento started acting at the age of nine playing a small part in a film by Sergio Citti. She also had a small part in a film written and produced by Dario Argento in, The Church (1989), when she was 14, and Trauma (1993), when she was 18. She also had her first nude scene during Trauma. She received the David di Donatello (Italy's version of Hollywood's Academy Award) for Best Actress in 1994 for her performance in Perdiamoci di vista!, and again in 1996 for Compagna di viaggio, which also earned her a Grolla d'oro award. In 1998, Argento began appearing in English-language movies, such as B. Monkey and New Rose Hotel, with Christopher Walken.

Argento has proven her ability to work in multiple languages, adding French to the list of languages in which she has performed, with a role in 1994's La Reine Margot. That same year, she made her first foray into directing, calling the shots behind the short films Prospettive and A ritroso. In 1996, she directed a documentary on her father, and in 1998 a second one on Abel Ferrara, which won her the Rome Film Festival Award.

Argento directed and wrote her first movie called Scarlet Diva (2000), which was co-produced by Dario Argento. Four years later she directed her second movie, The Heart Is Deceitful Above All Things (2004), based on a book by JT LeRoy, the pen name of Laura Albert, this time in the United States. According to a Paris Review interview with Laura Albert, Argento and Savannah Knoop, who played the role of JT's public persona, became lovers.

She has modeled for and endorses the brand "Miss Sixty". The band Hondo Maclean from South Wales, gained Argento's interest when they wrote a track named after her. She liked the track so much she sent them pictures which they used as the cover of their 2003 EP Plans for a better day.

From 17 to 25 October 2006, Argento contributed a video diary to Nick Knight's website, SHOWstudio. The title of the 54 entries/episodes was "Don't Bother To Knock" and detailed Argento's daily life with three entries (noon, 6 pm and midnight) posted every day. The content of the entries were partially controlled by a discussion forum and together formed a cohesive whole, a sort of "mini-movie" anyone could view for free. In the clips Argento discusses topics such as freaks, her father, Fellini and her sexuality; she also journals a pregnancy, a new love interest and her unraveling psyche. All of these issues come to a head before Argento's final revelations and good-byes. The last visual of the diary is a digitally manipulated portrait of Argento taken by Knight, slowly burning away.

She appeared in Placebo's music video, This Picture, and featured on a cover version of Je t'aime... moi non plus with Placebo frontman Brian Molko and dance producers Trash Palace. Argento has also starred in Catherine Breillat's period drama, Une vieille maîtresse (The Last Mistress).

Hunziker was born in Sorengo (Lugano), in the southern, Italian-speaking part of Switzerland. Her mother Ineke is Dutch; her father Rudolf, who died of a heart attack in the fall of 2001, was a German-speaking Swiss national. He was a painter, but worked as a hotel manager. In 1983, the family moved to Ostermundigen, a suburb of Berne in the German speaking part of Switzerland which is also hometown to Swiss Hollywood star and legendary first Bond girl Ursula Andress. In Ostermundigen Hunziker attended elementary school. After her parents' separation, Hunziker's mother moved to Zuchwil/Solothurn. This caused a crisis in Hunziker's life. In 1993, when Hunziker was 16 years old, she moved to Bologna with her mother. Wanting to become an interpreter, she studied Italian, French, German, English and Dutch at a local college. After moving to Milan with her mother, she decided to become a fashion model and was hired by Riccardo Gay, a renowned agent. Although considered to be both too heavy and short, at 17 she posed for well-known labels such as Armani, Rocco Barocco, La Perla, Colmar, Fuerte Ventura, Lovable and Swish.

In 1999, TV3, the first Swiss private television station, was founded in Zürich, and Hunziker presented a show called ''Cinderella'', where a hair and make-up artist as well as a styling adviser helped both a prominent person and a viewer of the program to get a new look. After the first episode, Hunziker was caught in the crossfire. The Swiss newspaper Blick even wrote: "Cinderella, TV3's new lifestyle show is not bad. It is catastrophic". Later, Hunziker was interviewed by the Swiss German magazine Schweizer Illustrierte and she told that she couldn't speak German anymore after having lived in Italy for many years. After TV3 had changed the concept, the show became more popular.

After having hosted the Swiss show ''Cinderella'', Hunziker was discovered by German TV producers. In 1998, she presented the awarding of the ''Goldene Kamera'' with Thomas Gottschalk (a very well-known presenter in Germany). A year later, she co-hosted the show ''Michael Jackson & Friends'' (ZDF) in Munich. After having attended different talk shows, she presented her first show in Germany: ''Erstes Glück'' (SWR/Das Erste). She co-hosted the show with Thomas Elstner and interviewed prominent people about their first love. The show wasn't very popular though, and was finally suspended.
When she got back to Italy, she presented the shows ''Donna sotto le stelle'' and ''Piazza di Spagna'' (Canale 5) with Gerry Scotti and ''Tacchi a spillo'' (Italia 1) with Claudio Lippi. In 2002-2004 she presented with Carsten Spengemann the first and second

Besides, she co-hosted the famous Italian open air music show ''Festivalbar'' with Daniele Bossari and Alessia Marcuzzi.

She has also starred in the musicals directed by Saverio Marconi ''The Sound of Music'' (playing the role of Maria von Trapp) and ''Cabaret'' (playing the role of Sally Bowles); both had great success in Italy.

Ferilli's father was the speaker of the Lazio regional council of the Italian Communist Party. Ferilli was herself clearly influenced by her father’s political orientation and activism, making no secret of her own leftism.

Ferilli starred in several movies and TV series since the mid 1980s, as well as debuting in theater plays. While her popularity stems in large part from her movie acting, theater always remained her real passion.
