Velba was born in an industrial town in northwestern Czechoslovakia, near the border with East Germany. As a child, Milena played with boys. Lorna Morgan went to Heol-y-Celyn junior school on ''Holly Street'' in Rhydyfelin, Pontypridd (pronounced ''Pontypreeth'').
