In the mid-2004, Hemme participated in the Diva Search, a competition held by World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) in order to recruit new Divas.<ref name=wire/> In the course of the competition, Hemme and the five other finalists faced seven existing Divas in a game of dodgeball at SummerSlam on August 15, eliminating all eight Divas with the loss of just one finalist, Joy Giovanni. Hemme signed with Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA) in April 2006,<ref name=slam2/> and she debuted on April 23 at Lockdown. In addition to her hosting role on ''Impact!'', she was also the co-host of the Internet show ''TNA Global Impact!'' with Jeremy Borash. At Hardcore War, Hemme refereed a match between Traci and [[Gail Kim]].<ref name=OWOW/> In July 2006, she was featured on the ''Women of Action'' special. She also began traveling to Windsor, Ontario to train under TNA agent Scott D'Amore in between TNA TV tapings. She was also Knockout of the Year for 2006.<ref name=OWOW/>

On January 14, 2007 at Final Resolution, Christy came out and interrupted the Voodoo Kin Mafia (VKM) and cut a promo about the involvement of women in wrestling.<ref name=OWOW/> She said that she wanted to wrestle too—and the mostly male crowd in the TNA arena jeered her. Kip James called her a slut, which garnered him a slap from Hemme, while B.G. James attempted to play peacemaker.<ref name=OWOW/> In the following weeks, Kip and Hemme got into a few arguments over his lack of respect for her and women as a whole. Hemme made her TNA in-ring debut at Against All Odds where she wrestled and defeated "The Big Fat Oily Guy" in a Tuxedo match, but after his match Kip James stripped her.<ref name=OWOW/> On the March 8 version of ''Impact'', Hemme asked Jim Cornette for a match pitting VKM against her new, previously undisclosed, team, at Destination X. Cornette consented and booked the match. On the pay-per-view, Hemme introduced The Heartbreakers. Despite Hemme's attempts to give Kip a low blow, VKM defeated her team, who she later browbeat at ringside.<ref name=OWOW/> Hemme later announced that she had found another team to face the VKM. At the preshow prior to the Lockdown pay-per-view, the mystery team was revealed to be Serotonin (Havok and Kaz), but VKM defeated them as well.<ref name=OWOW/> She then brought in Basham and Damaja as her new permanent tag team in her battle with VKM.<ref name=OWOW/> They beat Kip in a handicap match at Sacrifice as B.G. had been attacked by them earlier in the night.<ref name=OWOW/> At Slammiversary, VKM beat Basham and Damaja, but VKM's associate Lance Hoyt turned on them and kissed Hemme.<ref name=OWOW/>

Basham and Damaja were then released from the company, and Hoyt formed a partnership with Jimmy Rave, named The Rock 'n Rave Infection, with Hemme as their manager.<ref name=OWOW/> In the winter of 2007, Hemme, Rave, and Hoyt entered into a feud with The Latin American Xchange (LAX) faction after being attacked several times by a mysterious assailant.<ref name=OWOW/> The assailant was revealed to be Salinas (Shelly Martinez) at Final Resolution following LAX's victory over the Infection.<ref name=OWOW/> Shortly after Final Resolution, The Rock 'n Rave Infection began a new gimmick, acting as though they were a rock band with Hemme portraying the lead singer. Hemme turned into a fan favorite on the October 16, 2008 episode of ''Impact'' when she was attacked by The Beautiful People ([[Angelina Love]] and [[Velvet Sky]]) backstage.<ref name=OWOW/> She feuded with them, which resulted in two consecutive tag team matches with [[ODB]] and Sojourner Bolt respectively.<ref name=OWOW/> After showcasing improved wrestling skills, Hemme was then placed into a more active in-ring role, being pushed to challenge Awesome Kong at Final Resolution after defeating Raisha Saeed on the November 27 edition of ''TNA Impact!''.<ref name=OWOW/> Hemme then teamed with A.J. Styles in a mixed tag team match against Awesome Kong and Scott Steiner, where Hemme pinned Kong.<ref name=OWOW/> At Final Resolution, it appeared Hemme was about to win the title, but was attacked by Saeed and Rhaka Khan, thus winning on a disqualification.<ref name=OWOW/> Hemme was then granted a re-match at Genesis.<ref name=OWOW/> A week later Hemme teamed with ODB against Khan and Saeed in a winning effort.<ref name=OWOW/> On January 2009, Hemme sustained a neck injury while training in the ring with Styles for her match and would be unable to compete at Genesis against Awesome Kong.<ref name=OWOW/> Her injury required surgery and she was out of action for about seven months.

In September 2006, Hemme recorded a song entitled "Society Box", which was featured on TNA's November 21, 2006 music release, ''3rd Degree Burns''. Hemme is also the founder and lead singer in HEMME. She is best known for her tenures in World Championship Wrestling (WCW) and World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE), where she worked on both their SmackDown and Raw brands through out her eight year run.

As a fitness competitor, Wilson won the Miss Galaxy competition in 1998. Shortly after, she was signed by World Championship Wrestling, where she stayed from 1999 until 2001. In 2001, she began appearing on World Wrestling Federation (WWF) television as part of The Invasion storyline. Her most high profile storyline took place in 2003 when she feuded with [[Dawn Marie Psaltis|Dawn Marie]]. Wilson has also been a part of the all-female stable, or group of affiliated wrestlers, known as Vince's Devils, which ended its run in 2006.

Aside from wrestling, Wilson has been on the cover of several magazines, including FHM and Playboy, which she posed for twice.

== Early Life ==
Wilson was born in Boise, Idaho. She claims that while growing up she was painfully shy as a child. Wilson found her niche in many school activities, including cheerleading, dance, and was very competitive in track and field.

During her sophomore year of high school, after Wilson's interest in modeling grew more serious, her mother urged her to pursue it. They visited an agency and were informed that Wilson would have to lose weight to be considered for jobs.[4] In the process of losing weight, she began a bout with anorexia nervosa and then bulimia that lasted from ages 14-to-20.

After recovering from the disorder, Wilson became involved in fitness. She began eating six meals a day and working out. She placed third in her first competition, and she later won the Miss Galaxy competition in 1998. She then spent some time on the Extreme Fitness Team. As part of the Women's Tri-Fitness Championships in 1998, Wilson won first place in the Grace and Physique round.

Later in 1998, Wilson moved to Los Angeles to pursue acting.She began acting classes and was introduced to an agent who helped her gain a few jobs.

== Personal Life ==
Wilson admits not having watched wrestling when she was younger, but says that since becoming involved in the industry, she has become a fan of Hulk Hogan.

While working for WWE, Wilson was on the road for up to 300 days per year. She has a Maltese named Chloe, who traveled with her. While on the road, Wilson worked out at least four days a week. Usually, her workout consisted of an hour of cardiovascular workouts and a half-hour of lifting weights.

Wilson also has a close friendship with Stacy Keibler. At one point, they were roommates in Los Angeles, California.

After being together for four years, Wilson married Peter Gruner (known on-screen as Billy Kidman) on July 11, 2003. They lived together in Tampa, Florida, when not traveling. The couple were officially divorced in 2007.

In September 2007, Wilson opened her official clothing line "Officially Jaded", alongside Nick Mitchell, a former WWE wrestler who was known as "Mitch" of the Spirit Squad. The couple began dating in mid-2006. She opened a store in The Woodlands, Texas, at the upscale Market Street district. On September 14, 2008, Torrie made an appearance at the inaugural Wrestler's Rescue event held in Piscataway, New Jersey, an event to create awareness and to help raise money to support the health care needs of retired professional wrestlers.

Aside from Playboy, Wilson has also graced the cover of several other magazines, including the September 2006 cover of FHM magazine.
