She began modeling in 2010 after losing over 120 lbs[6] and November 2014 finished writing Fit As Phoenix,[2] a nutritional cookbook filled with recipes that she found helped her lose weight. Since 2010, she has modeled in Seattle, Los Angeles, Miami, New York, Portland, Las Vegas, and Washington, D.C.. As a published model, she has appeared in numerous men's publications including: Penthouse,[7] UK magazines Fiesta and Ravers DVD,[8] as well as High Society, Glam Modelz and Got Curves.[9] She has also appeared on the talk show Maury.[2][10] In January 2013, she shot the mainstream billboard ad campaign for the event she hosted along with Gracie Glam, Kendall Karson and Miles Long at TABU Ultra Lounge[11][12] in the MGM Grand Las Vegas during the 2013 AVN Awards weekend.[13] It was the first time the MGM allowed an adult star to be photographed inside the nightclub for a promotional shoot.[2][14] In March 2013, she shot the billboard campaign and hosted an additional party at TABU Ultra Lounge, celebrating her appearance in the movie 21 and Over.[15] It was the final event for TABU Ultra Lounge nightclub before the club's closure. The event was sponsored by Twala Intimates. In January 2014, she hosted her own afterparty at Drai's Afterhours on the evening of the AVN awards show, releasing her EDM single "My Addiction" with DJ Nilsson, [16] followed by her LA release party for "My Addiction" at Colony. [17] In April 2014 she was interviewed by both Vegas Seven magazine[18] and DJOYbeat.com[19] about her music career, mainstream accomplishments, weightloss and her mainstream and adult careers.[20][21] In September 2014 she followed with the release of her Album "Ballroom Zombies" which was released across all digital music platforms including iTunes[22], Amazon[23], including Amazon, ITunes and Rhapsody.[24][25] In May 2015, her song "Your Smile", was the #1 EDM song with over 3.3 Million plays to date, and was in heavy radio rotation in Canada, the US and Europe.[26] She Headlined her first music festival, Las Vegas Hempfest, showcasing her singing, and stage performance with acrobats and cirque performers on October 2015[27] while debuting her voice and music appearing in the first skill based casino game ever developed by Nanotech Gaming.[28] She hosted the 2016 AVN opening party at Foxtail at SLS and Headlined her signature show at The Joint, in the Hardrock Hotel and Casino in January 2016.[29] She is also collaborating with the legendary "Godfather of House" Chip E. and was interviewed by MyFavoriteEDM regarding their music together. Phoenix expressed a passion for EDM music since being an early teenager[20], and released her first EDM single entitled "My Addiction" with DJ Nilsson, the resident DJ for Vegas Superclubs XS, Tryst and Drai's Afterhours, at her own after hours event the evening of the 2014 AVN awards show to a standing room only crowd at Drai's Afterhours[16]. She appeared on the Billboard campaign for the event, and was interviewed by both Vegas Seven magazine[18] and DJOYBeat.com[19]. She hosted the Los Angeles Release Party for "My Addiction" at Colony nightclub, and was featured on the Billboard campaign for that event as well[17]. The interview also featured the first time the song remix was played for the general public.[43]

Adult film career and appearances

Phoenix felt it was important to point out in interviews that she chose to appear in adult films because of her sex positive and woman positive outlook on sexuality[44][45][46][47]. As such adult films were a form sexual expression for Phoenix that she did because she enjoyed doing them, while pursuing her career paths in various other markets. Phoenix's first scene was for Thrilla in Vanilla 8 with Flash Brown.[48] in 2012 she appeared on the boxcovers of several Third Degree Films titles,.[49] In January 2013, she shot a mainstream billboard ad campaign for the event she hosted along with Gracie Glam, and Kendall Karson at TABU Ultra Lounge[50][51] in the MGM Grand Las Vegas during the 2013 AVN Awards weekend,[52][53][54] before attending the AVN Awards red carpet.[2][55] She hosted the final event for TABU Ultra Lounge before the club's closure, celebrating her appearance in the mainstream film 21 and Over. The event was sponsored by Twala Intimates.[15] She hosted another event at EDEN nightclub in Los Angeles celebrating her birthday in May 2013.[56] In addition, she released her first EDM Dance single on the evening of the 2014 AVN Awards show and hosted events at both Drai's Afterhours, in Las Vegas,[16] and at Colony nightclub in Los Angeles.[17] All these mainstream credits led to multiple award nominations including her 2014 XBIZ Awards nomination for Crossover Star of the Year,[57] her 2014 XRCO nomination for Mainstream Adult Media Favorite,[58] her 2015 AVN Awards nomination for Mainstream Star of the Year,[59] her 2015 XBIZ Awards nomination for Crossover Star of the Year,[59] as well as her 2015 AVN award nomination for Best Solo Girl Website[59] for her work on her flagship website NikkiPhoenixxx.com.
